We are planning to fill in the forms (both myself and my husband) and go and live in Europe for a while (friends house) - can we do that or do we have to stay in the UK for a year or until discharged?

Posted - 22 April 2008 : 23:11:28 There are no restrictions about leaving the UK during or after Bankruptcy.
If it is part of the EU then you have - as I understand it - the right to abide and seek work if you so wish whatever your financial position.
If it is outside the EU and you were considering imigration then you may want to research this with the relevany embassy in London.
