Posted - 18 June 2008 : 10:49:41 Just put phone down and not too impressed. I put £170 down for my 2 kids who do not live with me and was rejected she said she would get back to me. Rent to parents £215 ok. Food and housekeeping £220 high but ok due to my work. Telephone £20 ok. Travel £280 long distance to work ok. Clothing £40 ok. CSA £46 ok. Dentist £130 have dental probs, she will check. Prescriptions £3.50 from £5 petty. Car £100 from £155. Haircut £9 ok. Pet bills £80 allergic dog she wants receipts. Birthdays/xmas £40 not allowed what ??????? Life ins £12 ok. Hols £45 down to £20 what holiday can i get for 3 people for £240. Newspaper / mags £22 to £12 let me keep trade mags.
Was dissappointed with some of this because my kids arnt classed as dependants.....tell that to the CSA. Lady was quite nice lasted 1 hour 6 mins. When they ask what was the one thing that made you bankrupt what are you supposed to say? Anyones views would be helpful. |

Posted - 19 June 2008 : 11:28:45 Hi all,
The key here is to remember that the telephone interviews are conducted by B3 examiners who are the lowest-grade examiner at the OR office. Quite often, they are relatively new to the Insolvency Service and quite frequently have to refer to thei superiors. Don't be too concerned, and remember you can always appeal to the assistant OR.

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 21:25:50 My OR said he will come back to me about 40 pounds I put as christmath and birthdays for my family of 3 kids, I and my wife. I did not say a word ,but till now do not know the meaning of "will come back to you about £ 40". Abd |

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 18:12:41 Bless them! Fortunately we live near the coast so I can walk mine on the beach and avoid grass as much as poss! I feed my squirt on "sensitive" dog food - and it's not cheap is it! I make him homemade tuna treats as well - got the recipe if you have an urge to get in the kitchen! ;)

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 17:15:55 Thanks for that. I do have him insured but they will not pay for food. They have forked out about £2,000 on him so far tho so its not too bad. |

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 15:37:41 Good one Gary.....you'll have some free disposable income too so not too bad a result. I have a dog that's allergic to grass so I know how expensive vets bills can be. Would it be cheaper to get him/her insured (and pay the excess) for ongoing treatment/food?? Just a thought.

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 14:25:50 She just been back on my kids money of £170 will now go on my maintenance money as i dont pay the CSA much. Im allowed £60 for dogs as long as i send them proof of illness. £100 allowed for dentist. Resulting in an IPA of £93 a month so not too bad. |

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 13:09:15 Hi Gary - your examiner may well come back with some more of your allowances accepted so don't be too disheartened just yet. She has looked at your case as a single person, hence the drop in your holiday allowance. I don't know enough to advise you on the likely outcome for making extra payments for your children on top of your CSA payments but kids don't come cheap (or dogs for that matter) if you have receipts etc then I am sure that will help.
A BR assist expert will be around soon - be interesting to see what they think.

Posted - 18 June 2008 : 10:54:58 Hi Gary I have just finished my interview a few mins ago and it was 15 mins long and everything for outgoings was accepted, including £30 a month which I send to my daughter who is 16 and at college, as she lives with her dad 200 miles away from me(long story!) Just wait and one of the regulars will answer this for you with some sound advice. Maxine x |
