Im currently in an IVA and going bankrupt soon, I have contacted T-Mobile asking whether I would be able to keep my mobile contract with them if I went bankrupt. There response was....

Usually, when you file for bankruptcy, your account is suspended and automatically cancelled.

Once you file for this, you can send the documents mentioned below to this address:

T-Mobile (UK)
Customer Administration
6 Camberwell Way
Doxford Technology Park
Doxford
Sunderland
Tyne & Wear
SR3 3XN.

Documents required is a official letter from the liquidator/receiver/solicitor:

Informing us that you are insolvent
The mobile number/account number
Date of insolvency
Liquidator/receiver's address and contact number.

What does this mean? I am a good payer, never missed a payment!

That is a good argument DM, but it is the asset which is the tool of the trade, and not the contract associated with the asset. I think you need to explain that this is priority expenditure for the good reasons you have given.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi Julian,
Could I put down that it is a tool of my trade? My contract states that I have to be contactable between certain times and sometimes in locations (ie. aircraft ramp) that have no phones. I also need my phone for when I am on stnadby and get a call saying I have to take a flight asap.

Hi all,

I kept my T-Mobile contract in BR without any issue. However, I did put down on my SOA that it was a tool of my trade.

i'm bankrupt and still have a T - mobile contract, i'm not going to tell them but if they find out and cut me off then who cares? I think they are more bothered about you going bankrupt and owing them money, just keep paying and it'll probably be OK

Hi Maizie I haven't informed 3 mobile that I'm BR and so far there have been no problems. When you contacted them did you give all your details or was it a general query
