Hello

Can anyone advice whether i should put that i looked into any iva but was advised that i could not afford one on my statement of affairs in the section 1.15: have you entered into or tried to enter into an IVA.

Obviously i want to show that i have looked into other options but not sure if this is the right place to put it. Is this section just for people who have had an iva turned down or got one but have been unable to afford it?

Many thanks

Hi Liney,

Remember the OR will examine your conduct prior to and during your BR. By letting them know (in the narrative section as Melanie says), this will put you in a good light as you've done everything possible to avoid BR.

I agree
it will always only help your case if you have taken professional advice and have been recommended down a particular path

There is no harm in referring to this at all, but perhaps this is better under the narrative section to the rear of the form. Section 1.15 really relates to whether you have actually proposed an IVA which was either accepted or rejected by creditors.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com
