Posted - 02 July 2008 : 20:54:46 Hi,
I am new to this forum and hoping someone can help me. My IVA meeting is set for next Friday. The repayment that has been put forward would have been fine for me but things have changed. I currently live with my Mum but she is a pensioner in a private rented house and is looking at going into council accommodation. As I would not be able to go with her I need to look at renting somewhere myself and this would not be possible with the repayments on my IVA (if it is accepted). Is it too late to change things and go bankrupt? Any advice would be great!
Thanks |

Posted - 04 July 2008 : 23:42:36 There is nothing to stop you withdrawing your IVA proposal, either prior to or on the day of your creditors meeting, but you will have to have discussions with your IP and explain the change of circumstances to him/her.
For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com |

Posted - 02 July 2008 : 21:11:56 Thanks for your advice DM. HSBC is one of my creditors and I have been advised that they will not accept the IVA unless they get 40p in the pound, which is the amount that has been proposed. I will speak to my IP tomorrow.
Thanks again x |

Posted - 02 July 2008 : 21:05:52 Hi Glock, Call your IP asap. That changes things quite alot. Lots of work goes into an IVA proposal, so make the call tomorrow and find out where you stand. You may still have enough for an IVA, but your IP will be best to help you decide. Its not too late to go BR, but there may be a better path for you. Good Luck.
