Posted - 04 July 2008 : 12:52:27 We have been saving for months to get the court fees for BR, but MOT repairs and road tax for a car I need urgently for work has swallowed up a huge chunk of what we saved. Now we have to wait till the end of July, i.e. if nothing unexpected happens. Now a creditor I informed of my intention to go BR at the end of June and whom I provided with a letter to show I am not in work at the moment has written and threatened court action if I do not make a payment by 9th July. Can someone, please, advise me on what to do to hold all creditors at bay till the end of July: a) should I ignore them, b) should I make a token payment, c) should I write again to tell them that my BR will now be at the end of July, d) or should I tell them I cannot afford to pay them because I do not have the money.

Posted - 04 July 2008 : 16:03:28 Hi Modensane,
I would suggest that given the timeframes available, the creditors won't be able to do anything (unless they already have a CCJ) in time so you should be safe (apart from a lot of nuisance calls and letters).
