hi again, sorry about house questions again but just to be certain that when we go br on thr 30th we will only have missed 1 secured loan payment as we have taken a payment holiday on our mortgage before we decided not to keep the house. The mortgage will not be in arrears until we miss the payment in mid august. We have written shortfall in both sections of the forms as advised but if the house is not sold until after discharge are we then liable for the debt then.We are moving into rented accommodation in August and will give our keys back after br date.

In reality you don't - because one your have voluntary surrendered the property by filling in the relevant paperwork with the mortgagee, they will arrange for the locks to be changed in any case.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Just a general question here - how do you go about actually 'handing the keys back' ?

Do you send them to the Mortgagor in the Post ? Meet them ?

Hi

If you have included the shortfall in your statement of affairs, and handed back the keys you will be fine.
