I don't know if this is the right place to ask for other advice but I don't know where else to turn. The CAB have been less helpful than you folks already :(

Situation is this. I'm currently sort of unemployed (contract agency messing me around) and will likely sign on at the dole on Monday. Wife is unemployed, has been for 18 months and she gives birth in 6 weeks time.

I was made redundant officially on the 7th of this month, after not having been paid the last months wages we should have received on the 19th June. Informed by the company they're in financial issues, they to this day still havent gone into administration but have officially told us they can not afford to pay us. I have filled in the various paperwork to claim from a tribunal what is owed but this takes 26 weeks.

In the meantime we've exhausted all financial help from relatives and can ask no more. I can't find work that will support us, and we owe council tax, rent, utility bills, car insurance, phone & internet bills.
If I lose the car, we've had it. If I lose the Internet, as dependant on it as I am (medical/psychological condition), I've had it. We're likely to lose the flat, and the only good thing about the dole is that we can claim benefit to the full value for the rent & council tax.

We can't even afford to go through with the bankruptcy! How on earth can we find nearly £1000 when we need that sort of money to catch up & pay next months bills?
I can't use telephones to speak to people due to my disability and
rely heavily on email to get by, and this is causing even more difficulties in both getting help and finding jobs :(
Oddly enough, our most realistic chance of survival would be winning the lottery :(

Anyone know who I can turn to or where to find some help? would be very much appreciated :(

The CAB had literally far less information than what was available on these very forums, I did ask specifically about anyone else that could help but other than one of our creditors doing it, after going through CCJ's and court etc, they had absolutely no information to offer :(

The CAB should provide you with a list of companies who provide grants to their customers in order to petition for bankruptcy.

Can your doctor/nurse put you in touch with anybody that can assist you through the proceedure in claiming your benefits and/or bankruptcy.

Sorry to hear you are going through a tough time at the moment, Im afraid I don't know anything about what you are entitled to etc. but I am sure someone on here will be along shortly who can help. I am pretty sure you would be able to get a discount on the bankruptcy fee though if you are on benefits, anyone correct me if I am wrong?!
