i've heard of people handing back the keys to their building society for their homes but what about with vehicles?
Would you just hand back the keys to the dealership if the car was on finance? and i take it you would do this after the BR has been granted?
thanks, andy

Posted - 22 August 2008 : 11:12:56 Hi there, I did exactly that but before BR. I contacted the company Santander and explained situation, that we could not afford to keep the car and that it was uninsured and had gone to sorn so was sat on the drive losing in value every day. We did not need it so we were glad of the space back. They contacted us about a week later to arrange collection and then they took it to auction. We dont know what if any we owe to them as we have had nothing back from them and the car went on the 14th of July. I did take photos of the chap taking it and also had a receipt given to me, I forwarded all this info to the OR when I sent my stuff down including the photos and the SORN letter and also the letter from the DVLA to say I was no longer liable for it. Its all now captured in the BR, our OR was a little confused to why they took it but never mind it will be sorted in the end. Hope this may have helped. JO
