Posted - 25 August 2008 : 23:51:50 I said in my IE that I pay £300 child care and showed them an invoice from the nursery. In fact the £300 is deducted at source from my wifes salary as she receives a discount because of who she works for. My salary goes into my wifes account, and it is an unwritten rule that she pasy £500 towards the mortgage and I pay for the other half of the mortgage and all other expenses (I earn 3x my wife).
Is this arrangement OK, or will it be frowned upon if they find out that in fact my wife pays the £300 at source and I give my wife £300 in effect.

Hi
As long as you accurately reflect the contribution you and your wife make to the household expenses in relation to your incomes it should be fine. You are able to explain a lot of this at your interview, so if you are worried about how you have stated thing on your I&E you can speak up then.
First interview done 6 weeks ago face to face where I presented the invoice from the nursery and it wasnt questioned.
Just gearing up for the RTLU to get in touch for a more thorough grilling over my IE.
