Posted - 06 February 2010 : 11:56:32 Hi. My wife has got a date at the court for gonig BR in 3 weeks. She is getting a lot of phone calls as she has not paid any bills for the last month and does not want to answer the phone. Can she tell the companies that are chasing her that she is going BR or just fob them off until after she has been declared BR and will this stop the calls. Many thanks |

Posted - 06 February 2010 : 13:12:08 I would ignore the calls as well.
You could also change your number so that they can't get hold of you.

Posted - 06 February 2010 : 13:11:45 Hi,
These people who harrass you on the phone are without parents!!
Is it a landline? If so, it is simple, contact your telephone provider and say you are receiving harrassing and abusive calls and would like a new ex directory number - it will be done in a few days and it will be free and most of all you will be able to relax a bit
Good luck and try not to stress too much - Richard

Posted - 06 February 2010 : 12:36:26 debtinfo is correct, if your wife tells the creditors that she is declaring BR the creditors will call even more as they know they won't get their money once she is BR.
Whether your wife tells them she is going BR and then ignores them or just ignores them is really up to her and won't make any difference. |

Posted - 06 February 2010 : 12:09:54 there isn't much you can do to stop the phone calls. if they know you are going bankrupt they might get more intensive as they won't get anything after. Just ignore them, with only 3 weeks to go, there is little they can actually do |
