Afternoon all,
I am expecting a pay increase of around £30 per month from April and I wondered if I needed to tell the OR of this as it is such a small amount? I am due for discharge in 5 days time, but have an IPA which continues for another 2 years.
If anyone could advise, I would be very grateful.

Yes, I was a little worried (or rather a lot) during the past 12 months as I was convinced I would get a BRU as some of my debts were incurred through gambling. However, as a reformed character, I attended counselling and I have not gambled for nearly 10 months now. Partly because I am banned from the casinos if I am completely honest, although I do now realise how fruitless gambling is really. Although I would still like the opportunity to go with friends, if only to watch them play. I wasn't that bad an addict. Not sure why the casinos have blacklisted me though. Obviously the OR has been in touch and told them of my bankruptcy and they have decided that I am considered a 'vulnerable person'. I will have a word with them again once I am discharged, if only to find out why I have not been allowed entry and whether this has changed now I am no longer bankrupt.

Yes, it's good news about the BRU. I remember from your earlier posts that you were very worried about getting a BRU. |

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will obviously keep the OR informed... and happy. Must admit I haven't had any bother from the OR throughout my BK so far. The year has flown by really and I can't believe its been a year since I declared BK. At least I did the full 12 months and didn't end up with a BRU, which I really thought I might. Only another 2 and a bit years to go with the IPA now....... then total freedom.

When you get an IPA you sign an agreement to inform the OR within 21 days of becoming aware of any increases in income so I would drop them a letter in a couple of weeks. As it is a fairly small amount the OR may not even bother with a review and if they do your outgoings may have increased slightly since the initial review so probably won't really pay any more than you do now.

It is awlays best to contact the OR to let them know, they will then inform you whether or not a review is necessary. That way you will totally above board with everything

you do need to tell OR about pay rise but do it in 7 days time as not to confuse ED
