Posted - 04 March 2010 : 18:20:58 I am now officially bankrupt! I just wanted to thank everyone on here for answering my questions over the last few months, if it wasnt for the forum I know I would have gone insane and got myself in a right state.
I went to Court this afternoon at 1.30pm, and went straight through into an office to check over my paperwork and sign it, I was also asked to swear on the bible and hand over the £510 fee, all of this took about 5-10 minutes. I was told that the Judge would be ready to see me at 2pm. I went into another room with lots of other people and waited to be called. I was asked at 1.55pm to go into see the Judge who was a lovely lady, very friendly! She put me at ease straight away :-). She read the back page of my forms and read out loud what I put then said 'dont worry, its all over now' and signed my forms and declared me bankrupt, she didnt even ask me any questions!
I was then sent back to the room where I started and spoke to the OR over the phone (or their secretary) who asked me to confirm my personal details (name, date of birth, phone number and address) and said that I would be contacted within 14 days to see if I needed to meet with the OR. This call took a couple of minutes and the lady was really nice. I was then free to leave!
I know I've still got the OR call to come but I feel soooooooo happy! I just wish I'd had the courage to do this a long time ago to save me the stress I've been through.
I'm just off to celebrate my new found happiness with a pizza and beer :-). |

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurhman) RevivaUK and Paul Johns helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!! |

Posted - 04 March 2010 : 18:39:13 Well done and thanks for sharing the experience. Check the Register (http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir) tomorrow morning or any time after midnight and you will be famous
Don't worry though, I don't think anyone looks at the Register other than creditors. |
