Posted - 18 May 2010 : 17:50:00 i have a bankrupcy hearing on the 28th may, i am wondering about my bank account i know it will be frozen ,but am worried where my benefits will be paid? should i open a post office account and change my benefits to get paid into that till im discharged then open a basic account? and shall i do this before im declared bankrupt?

You are allowed a basic bank account - the one most people go for is the Co-op cashminder - very good account and this bank is BR friendly. You can have salaries etc paid in to this account and pay direct debits etc
You can also open a post office account for benefits to be paid into.
Do not leave any money in the "regular" account that you are using now!
