Posted - 26 May 2010 : 21:39:25 I am at risk of losing my home for less than £7000.00, i am declared bankrupt even though MBNA have been paid. other debts including official receivers cost add up to approx £5500.00 I am currently paying the creditors monthly but they want it all now. How come that if i owed more than £15000.00 I would have received help but when I told them i only owed £5000.00 they laughed at me and told me they couldn't help?? |

Posted - 27 May 2010 : 09:35:41 Hi Tracey
If you could clarify a few points we may be able to offer more assistance -are you already bankrupt? -have you paid any creditors directly whilst bankrupt? -do you have an income payments agreement with your OR -how much is the equity in your property (approx)?
Alternatively you may wish to speak to someone - there are a number of experts on this site who will happily advise you if you give them a call - you can find their details on the experts link to the left of this post
Good luck

Posted - 27 May 2010 : 07:33:28 It sounds as though you are bankrupt but if you can somehow find the money to annul your bankruptcy then your home would be safe. How much equity is in it? |

Posted - 26 May 2010 : 21:46:26 are you bankrupt at the moment
if not then a creditor CAN make you bankrupt for a debt as little as £750 but most creditors would probably go down the CCJ/baliffs/Attachment of earnings/charging order for small debts |
