Hi a.s.

As Richard P says, bad news is better news - "Person goes bankrupt and everything sorted out smoothly" isn't a headline - "Person goes bankrupt and now sleeps in cardboard box" is

Everyone's circumstances are different, and in cases where the property (be it a house, flat, caravan) has a value, and the bankrupt or a third party can't afford to buy back the equity it can result in repossession and eviction

At the risk of sounding like an echo, as Richard P says, the best way to ensure things run as smoothly as possible is to prepare in advance, seek as much advice as possible, don't rush into anything, and be honest

The one thing you can be sure of is that if you do get a bombshell, there'll be people on here who can assist

All the best for the future
