Posted - 03 June 2010 : 10:41:57 Hi Lee,
I was discharged from BK in March and some of my debts were also down to gambling. I did not end up with a BRU and was totally honest when I put down gambling on the SOA and when I spoke to the OR. I did undergo counselling and was barred from casino's. I think it depends how much of the debt was due to gambling at the end of the day. Mine was 25% or thereabouts.
Good luck

You will however have the gambling questioned, and risk having a Bankruptcy Restriction Order - which basically menas having the bankruptyc extended (usually to 3 years) if gambling has been apparent.

The money that you have paid to pay off some of your debts could be looked at as showing preferential treatment to a creditor.
selling the car to gain funds to go bankrupt is correct.
