Hello, I am today 1 week away from my BR hearing...gulp.

I am worried to death as I realise I have a problem.

I completed my online forms about 2 1/2 months ago as I needed to send them to my insurance co. to pay for the BR. I have realised that I have forgotten to put 3 bank accounts on the forms, they are all with the same bank and are 2 savings accounts and an ISA account, all with nil balance. I was not being dishonest but when I log online to my bank account, these accounts are just shown underneath and I didn't consider that they have seperate account numbers. I submitted my BR forms and take it I cannot add to them now?? Is this going to cause me a big problem??

The other question I have is that I get conflicting advice as to whether to open a cash account before or after the BR. The problem I have is I have to inform my work as to which account to pay my wages into for July and they need to know by the 18th, my BR is the 20th. I have an appt to open a Barclays Cash account tomorrow or should I wait until next week to open it and get my wages paid into my husband's account for this month.

Any advice gratefully received.

OMG so worried and not sleeping.

Thanks for all your advice. I will hang on and open an account after Tuesday and get wages paid into hubby's account for this month.

To be honest I was happier opening my account after I was made BR as I knew there wouldn't be any problems.

369, did you get the Nationwide account after you were discharged? I know they have tightened up now and I can't remember when you went BR!

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 30th June 2010 - it's over at last!

Hello Worried Women,
I got my wages paid into my sisters account - until I sorted out an account of my own - why dont you get it paid into your husbands for now, and then sort it out afterwards.

I too missed off bank accounts and they were fine with me adding them in later.

I even missed one off completely a Woolich account that i opened about 15 years ago with a £1 in it which i had forgotten all about - i didnt include it, and i dont know whether I can still use it or not!

I got a Nationwide account after bankruptcy.

Good luck

HI WW

call coop and ask for a cash minder account dont forget to tell them on the phone that you intend to declare BR

0845 7212212 or 01695 53760.

Michelle, please speak to one of the experts it will put your mind to rest about lots of what ifs and the whole process.

I opened my new account after I went BR. I made sure my BR date was after I was paid and took the money I needed out of the account.

I cancelled my direct debits and standing orders and made arrangements to pay them by another method for that month only (if I was asked I said I was having a problem with my bank) and then set them up again when the new account was open.

Hi Again,

Have had no joy at all. I tried to open accounts with both Barclays and Co-op but neither would open one until after the BR as they state the OR would just close them. I tried to argue the point and told them I had been advised that they would be allowed to stay open but neither of them would budge and advised me to open an account after the BR.

Thanks Richard once again for your sound advice. I will put the details I missed onto a piece of paper and take with me to the court and I will keep the appt with Barclays tomorrow and put the details down when I go to Court and explain that it's a new account etc.

Regards Michelle.

Hi ww

it is no problem to hand in an extra piece of paper either at court or sent to the official receiver, the problem is not telling them.

second question seems to be a regular topic on here when to open a bank account with lots of variations mine is find a BR friendly bank (coop) and open an account 4 - 6 weeks before court this will give you time to sort out standing orders, income etc again disclose the account to the OR

regards Richard
