Posted - 14 July 2010 : 15:00:54 Helllo,
I have been looking at this forum and the internet for the last week regarding going bankrupt.
I had a child in september 2009 and whilst pregnant and after giving birth suffered with postal natal depression my way of dealing with any problem was to put it to the back of my mind.... not the best of plans!
Resulting from this i have now managed to mount up £18k work of debt, i was in debt befor i was pregnant and got a new loan to pay everything of as i was going to be down £700 a month, unfortunatley i only paid a few of the debts and the money has now disappeared over the months by paying back the monthly minimum payments on the debts i was meant to clear and for normal living as i did no calculate things properly.
Things are just a right big MESS !!!!!!!!!!!
I am now pregnant again NO NOT PLANNED ! and feel the best option for me is bankrupcy . Please can some one take a look at these figures and let me have your view...
We are due to move into a new rented property next month how would may bankrupcy affect this, they have allready done a credit check, do i have to tell them will they kick me out ? ( rent is paid from boyfriends account)
Boyfriends Income £1900 My income £600 (december will be SMP)

Posted - 14 July 2010 : 16:18:37 Hi Richard thanks for your reply,
The debts I have are in my name only and he is not mentioned on them.
I brought the car about 3 years ago it is the only car we have for transprt to work. Renault clio 1.2cc, 2002, approx £1000.
I was the one who was going to be going bankrupt, the £478 has been financed so far from money that was in my account from the loan i got that was meant to pay everything of in one go and has now run out.. this i do not see as left over cash as £250 in the above budget is not going to be enough to live of the food alone would cost more....

Posted - 14 July 2010 : 15:31:10 Hi Liz
welcome to the forum and congratulations on pregnancy and mother hood
do you have any joint debts with your partner as if one of you declares BR the other will be liable for outstanding amount.
who owns the car and approx value ?
sort out rented property before declaring BR would make it smoother
the first 7 items on you expenditure are all likely to stay after bankruptcy depends if both declare BR or just one if it is going to make a differnce of £478 or £778. but if you have that much left over cash you may get an income payment agreement.
contact Payplan or Paul@Reviva (expert to the left)and see if you qualify for a reviva plan. This call may prevent you from having to declare BR
good luck Richard |
