Posted - 19 July 2010 : 10:06:01 RevivaUK should be able to advise you but the UK courts have been cracking down on 'bankruptcy tourists' from other EU countries for a while now. If you don't have any UK debts then it may prove difficult to prove that your COMI (Centre of Main Interest) is the UK and you may have to declare BR in your own country.
You would probably need to be in the UK for at least 6 months rather than 3 and if you had a job here it would also prove helpful i.e. you moved from another EU country to the UK to take up employment. |

Posted - 18 July 2010 : 23:07:09 I have been told that if I move to the UK I need to do so for 3 months before I can file for bankruptcy. I must have an address and either work or actively seek work. I am wondering if this is correct. Also do I have to remain in the UK for the year of bankruptcy after the time I file. Thank you
