Hi Nathan

welcome to the forum

The overriding fear with most people when they enter into the debt world is the recovery of personal effects and being thrown out of your own home.

again public perception is when you miss the first payment the debt recovery people will be outside your front door that after noon.

The reality is that it will take many months before a court order and baliffs are at your door. Do not let any one into your house unless they have a court order

It is not normal for baliffs to take possession belonging to anyone other than debtor, however if the debt was incurred perhaps buying the latest all singing and dancing computer worth many thousands they may go for it.

at this early stage i would encourage you to go and see citizen advice or contact one of the experts to the left, they will help explain the whole process and give you tips or other options to avoid going BR (if appropriate) .

good luck regards Richard
