I have co-habited with a new patner since Sep 2009 and only contribute towards the utility bills as he owns the house outright without a mortgage, when completing the bankruptcy forms there is a question that I have to put down all other people in the households contribution to the monthly outgoings of the house, do I have to put down his even though the house is his not mine? Also do i mark me down as co-habiting or divorced as I am divorced but now co-habititing with my new partner? If i put co-habiting i am worried they will think i have a share in his house which i certainly dont and i have only been with him for under one year. I also dont contribute to his mortgage as he does not have one, I am worried for him that if i go bankrupt his assests will be taken into account and I dont want this, they are not my assests and never will be, please can you advise as i dont want him being part of my bankruptcy at all. many thanks

many thanks bridgewater, what I will do is put me down as divorced. I will not enter my partners contributions as you suggested. I will add all other information i.e been co habiting since sep 2009 and his contributions on a blank piece of paper to submit with the forms when filling for bankruptcy, I can then explain further when i have the interview with the OR. Thanks for your help it puts my mind at rest knowing that he will not be involved in my bankruptcy proceedings.

Hi Alex.80

Don't worry about this-none of your partners assets will be included

Just put yourself down as divorced.

As far as the income and expenditure is concerned the OR is only interested in what you earn and what you spend - the reason he wants to know what other occupiers of the house contribute is to make sure you aren't paying everything

Just put down the amount you contribute to the expenses and leave everything else blank - sometimes it is easier to explain when the examiner asks rather than putting something down which could confuse the issue

Good luck
