Final few questions at this stage of my Bankruptcy - I'm sure there will be more this week if thats ok?
When I take and hand in my forms at court on Monday next week.
1)Is it at this stage where I hand in any bank statements and creditcard statements that i have along with my debit/credit cards, cheque books etc? or do these go to the OR at a later stage?
2) Or should I just return them cut up to each bank along with a letter confirming my BR after the court date?

Posted - 16 August 2010 : 13:00:27 The Court appointment has only one goal to have the bankrtupcy order made - To do this you need 2 copies of the forms (do not sign or date until in the presence of the court clerk) and the fee in cash!
Your paperwork will only be required by the Official Receiver, and following your telephone appointment they will inform you of what information they want from you. Do not take paperwork etc with you to the court, as you will only have to bring it all back home with you again. The Courts will not under any circumstances forward it onto the OR for you. The Court only make the order, they are not involved in the processing of your bankruptcy full stop.

for court as already stated you need the money, the court redemption form if on benefits most courts require 3 copies of the petition (although Bournemouth only want 1 copy). some small change for the coffee machine and a book sometimes you can be at court for a good couple of hours. Bankruptcy petitions are low on the court to do list.

Posted - 16 August 2010 : 10:23:59 You will only need the BR forms and the £600 fee when you go to court. The OR will ask for bank/CC statements and any other documentation they require when you have the OR's interview.
It can take 6-8 weeks before the OR informs your creditors you have been declared BR so you can always inform them yourself if you want. I just answered the phone when the creditor called after I was BR and passed them the details and then the phone calls ended.

When I went to Court I only needed the 3 copies of the BR petition. The OR then contacted me and send me some forms to fill in and then requested I send her the bank statements, credit/bank cards etc to her. I didn't bother informing the banks as the OR did this.
