One-off payment after BR

If I receive a one-off payment of c£1.5k from my employer (for accrued holidays) after I have gone BR, would the OR deem it reasonable for me to use some or all of it to fund removalist costs (we're moving into rented accommodation) and car repairs that are desperately needed prior to the winter (as well as car tax and MOT)? Or would the OR expect me to hand over all of it?

This should be classed as an income not an asset so the most the OR should take is 70% whether you can talk the OR round on the rest is unlikely. But worth a shot

MoT/Car Tax is an allowable expense so you would be expected to save this out of your monthly allowance. If you need car repairs and money for removal costs then you could mention this to the OR but I don't think they are obliged to allow you this money.

The OR's job is to claim any monies for your creditors so they could say that they want all of the money. In most cases the OR's are decent people and realise that people need money for car repairs, etc. but there is no guarantee that they wouldn't take all of the money.
