Ive now called them 3 times so far and for some advice on what i should say to the OR regarding my outgoings if they ask after my visit to the court.. But they are being a bit annoying as im waiting for them to call back once again as the main guy obv seems to be "Busy" all the time!!
So ill ask you.. On one of my outgoings they have put down an outgoing of £30 on Holiday?? :S What does this mean?? And if im asked about this what do i say?? Slightly confused about this one..
Also they have put down dry cleaning and toiletries.. I take it thats just products that i have to buy each month expensise.. I just need this cleard up tbh.. I prob will get through to someone eventually.. But just wondered if anyone could help me on this atall :D

Posted - 13 October 2010 : 23:35:18 Hi all.. Thanks for all your replies...
And yeah it is funny that now they have my money they dont seem to care about what happends next! I will be calling them once again on friday until i get some help i tell you!!
This is what im concerned about.. Becuase if i cant sound positive about all my outgoings that i make to the OR.. They will then think im lying which im obv not.. Then yes that then could lead to me paying an ipa..
I tell ya sometimes! if ya want somethng done its best to do it yourself!! :@
But thanks all for all your advice and help :D

Posted - 13 October 2010 : 22:44:20 Also do be aware that if the OR finds out that you have not been accurate with your expenditure, ie if you cant explain what you have put down then they will go through your case with a fine tooth comb as they will not be able to trust that the rest of the information in your forms is accurate. remember you are stating in court that all of the information has come from you and is accurate, you should really be prepared to be able to explain every part of the information provided in court if it was necessary, that is what you are signing to say.
on the other point, its funny how now they have your money they are suddenly unavailable isnt it? |

Posted - 13 October 2010 : 15:07:38 I was allowed £30 for a Domestic UK Break and, as Tracey, has mentioned not all ORs allow this. The allowance is to allow you to take a short week(end) break somewhere in the UK.
For dry cleaning I put £10 as I wear a suit to work and it costs about £10 for the dry cleaning each month.
Toiletries were included in my Housekeeping & Food allowance.
It's pretty bad that you can't contact the company that you paid to assist you with BR, it sounds a bit like now they have their money they aren't willing to talk to you any more.
Care to 'name and shame' so others are aware of this company? |

Posted - 13 October 2010 : 14:45:27 I was allowed £20 per month for a holiday, but not all examiners will allow this, especially if it's the difference between you paying an IPA and not paying one.
The figures on your I & E should be a true reflection of what you spend, not what the assist company says you should spend. If asked you need to be able to justify the figures to the OR.
I didn't have a toiletries allowance, this was included in my housekeeping. Do you have a dry cleaning bill each month? If so, just put down what you spend.
I think it's very poor that you can't contact anyone, and to be honest I would be creating hell until they phoned me back!

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last! |
