Posted - 09 July 2011 : 14:52:39 The details of BR are public and can not get a job .I have got an order for 10 years because of gambling problems and not declaring an over paid salaries .Every time I apply for jobs ,Iam sure that recruiters and employers Google my name and can read the details of my BR ,which I am not proud of.Contacted insolvency agency ,they said it need to be public and they can not do anything about it.I have lost ,my job because of my past mistake that led to my BR ,but can not believe that they can do with you for 10 years. Please advise what can be done about that,or is there any one with similar experience over there. |

Posted - 16 July 2011 : 12:31:25 Hi glafy, thanks, yes I have been in a positive mental state for the last two years ,since I really messed things up with my BR,which is a consequence of bad luck and reckless behaviour.Since then after a short period of denial and grieve I made a radical change in my life-done an MSc degree to change career, read stacks of books on business ,management and personal and professional development ,lived healthy and now planning to go my birth country (after more than 23 years) to start up my own business .But my knock on the head was a Big bang as big as my reckless financial. Thanks again for the good wishes and all the best. behaviour |

Posted - 15 July 2011 : 09:07:50 Morning abd, You sound as if you are in a very strong, positive place mentally at the moment. It is strange the turns that our lives can take & it is refreshing to see you are willing to use this experience as a new opportunity. I wish you all the best for whichever route you take. Good Luck.

Posted - 15 July 2011 : 08:27:47 Thanks guys for the good luck wishes ,do really need them. However, feel positive and excited and I guess if not for the BR and related problems would not have dared to take this step.Wonder why I have never thought of doing my own business ,Some times we need a knock on the head to wake up . |

Posted - 14 July 2011 : 10:17:27 Hi RHB don't worry ,not taking it the wrong way and thanks for being considerate .I don't think it is the language barrier as I have been working in this country for many years before my BR problem .Most of the time they looked at my CV and then a quick phone call to talk things over .Aim always conscious about the accent and language thing ,therefore try my best to sound professional and articulate and believe doing OK.I believe these are difficult times in terms of job search and recruiters are very caucious a nd check things.Anyway ,thanks for your replies ,I have decided to log ovseas and start my own venture ,too old to put myself through this uncertainty |

Posted - 09 July 2011 : 21:42:20 Please don't take this the wrong way but it sounds as though English is not your mother tongue from your posts so could that maybe be a possible reason for the change in interest levels? |

Posted - 09 July 2011 : 18:41:08 Before applying for jobs, perhaps make an anonymous phone call to the HR for the company to see what their criteria is - whether or not they need to credit check you.

Posted - 09 July 2011 : 18:08:21 Hi thanks for your reply .Iam applying for health iT jobs .iam not sure but the responses from recruitment companies are very strange ,after they show their excitement about my experience and qualification ,next day they dont even answer my call.Maybe Iam aa bit paranoid as the information on my record are very compromising and show me in a bad light despite the truth of it's content .I have been trying for a while now and there are jobs looking for people like me . |

Posted - 09 July 2011 : 17:43:20 It will depend upon what sort of job you are looking for. Most companies will not check the register, infact most of them won't even know about it.
As Viki says, what are you looking for.
