I am a stay at home dad and my wife pays all the household bills....the house is in her name and both cars are hers ie one for work and other for me to talk eldest to school and back each day...We had payed a £3000 bill with Lloyds TSB a few years ago and thought it was the end of it but then they charged monthly bills again and its about the same amount once again...I am worried if I did declare bankrupt they would take the cars or make it so my wife can't get another mortgage if we move in next few years

Hi Nick,

As Jan said, if this is your only debt, maybe you could contact Lloyds and see if you can come to an agreement.

Can you post a little bit more information.

Hi and welcome.

Not entirely sure what you mean when you say you paid a £3k bill - if it was paid then that should have been the end of it unless you have run up the debt again.

If this is your only debt then you could look at doing something like a debt management plan which will not have the same implications as bankruptcy would have.

Speak to a professional to see what your options are.

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
'Cause there's no one like you in the universe
