Posted - 04 October 2011 : 00:05:57 I have alot od debt mainly from an old loan and a breakdown in a relationship in which I lost my home and I have the negative equity from that so in total about £110,000. I was very ill afterwards with severe stress and couldnt work and just stopped paying. I am a single mum of five children, and although Im back at work as a health visitor my income for full time is approx £25,000 per annum. I struggle to get by even though Im not paying off my debts. I have a car on lease I did own an old car but it became irrepairable. I need a car and a computer to do my job,as much of my work involves computers and visiting people in their homes. My questions are:1, I am on the nursing register NMC- I won't loose my job will I? if I declare bankrupt? I won't have to loose my car because it is a tool for work will I?

Posted - 04 October 2011 : 07:58:24 Hi Debbie,
Bankruptcy may be an option for you so I advise you speak to an expert to chat everything through.
You need to check yourself whether your job is at risk, check your terms and conditions and either speak to someone or phone HR dept anonymously.
It's up to the car finance co if they reposses the car so check your contract.
