Posted - 10 January 2012 : 23:19:17 Hi again,
Please can I ask *another* question?
After being at my employer for a year now, I found out today I *might* get a pro-rata'd amount through a profit sharing scheme - the payment is from the period oct'10 - june '11, and is for a total of £442 (I think). So I've done 6 months of that so will get whatever 6/9ths are. Maybe.
This was news to me as boss said i didn't get any bonuses the other day (but he doesn't know what he's talking about as he's only been there for a year too). Another secretary told me I DO get it so I'm very confused.
I've worked this out to about £290 which of course I have to pay tax on.
My question is - if I do get the payment - I haven't budgeted for a car service and do over 200 miles a week in my car. I haven't had the car serviced ever (I've had it for 2 years now and its an 04 plate). Will the OR be cross if i use the money for a car service? I have been putting off getting the blown head light bulb replaced and have been neglecting the car badly which is crazy because without it I cannot get to work and really need a safe, road worthy car to use.
Please don't be cross with me for asking. I really need it to be done,
Many thanks
E

Posted - 11 January 2012 : 21:54:17 Thanks. It seems a bit mean that they would want such a small amount - esp as the work really needs doing to keep my car on the road and safe and to ensure I can still get to work :(

Sorry you're having problems.
You will need to ask the OR if you can keepthe bonus to pay for your car.
Posted - 11 January 2012 : 15:24:14 Crikey! just had to spend £15 on oil (it was below the minimum) and £44 on two bulbs for the car (they were buy one get one free but needed them installed too as they are really fiddly and cannot do it myself). I feel like i've been robbed :(
