Hiya,

I have three questions if that is ok....

1. At what point will the OR tell me they are going to extend by BR? have they got up to the day of AD to tell me?

2. How long before AD will they write to me again? let me know about an IPA etc?

3. Work (how I love them) are making me work in the London office - it was that or no job.
For a few weeks I can claim back through expenses but after that I have to pay for it myself. The cost is £87 a week or £331.40 per month. Getting work to send me the paperwork for a season ticket loan is going to help, but until this is set up I have to pay for this myself. Has anyone else been in this position? how did you manage to pay for your travel? expenses take so long to get paid that its a case of pay for travel to work or pay for outgoings such as food.

I'd appreciate any advice!

Thank you :)

Good luck Essie, I agree with Jan and Viki - I think you'll be fine x

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

Thank you so much Jan & Viki, I do appreciate it. I swear my OR hates me and I will receive something the day before, but everything is crossed.
Thank you again, i promise I'll let you know what happens x

As you will be automatically discharged in a few weeks, I honestly don't think you are going to hear anything.

They usually send an income and expenditure for you to fill out prior to AD, but again, as you are so close to AD, I don't think you will get one.

I hope you hear nothing Essie and things all go smoothly for you.

You'll only hear from them if there is a problems, otherwise AD will come and go.

I do suggest that as soon as the date is here you go to your entry on the Insolvency Register and print off a copy of the discharge in case you need it in the future otherwise it will cost you.

Thanks for your help, in response to your questions...

1. Yes they have, do you think you will get a BRO?

I don't know if I will get one.
I wasn't involved in gambling or anything like that, but they accused me of treating my dad as a preferential creditor (which wasn't the case). I hadn't made any kind of payment to him in over a year whilst I had paid my other creditors (so RBS / Halifax were then the preferred creditors) so I was trying to even it out. Also, Dad had just been diagnosed with a terminal illness so felt I really should repay him a little. In the 10+ months when I wasn't repaying my debt to him it put a lot of stress on our relationship, he was really angry with me and barely spoke to me without bringing up the debt and how i'd let him down. But when i repaid him a little (only 3k out of 50k I owe him from my redundancy payment) he chilled out a lot and things have been better ever since. I didn't want my dad to go to his grave thinking I was a bad person and hadn't tried to repay him when I could. I would hate myself for us not having sorted out our relationship and me repaying him a little has mended things a lot. (my dad has Aspergers and money is very important to him).

2. They only have the 1 year you are bankrupt to set up an IPA

So they can tell me the day before they are giving me an IPA :(

3. Are you in an IPA now?, if so you need to inform the OR of any changes to your expenditure.

I am not currently in an IPA.
At the start of April they said they would write to me about this They had me sign a few documents and send them some statements which I did and I haven't heard anything to date.
I still haven't heard anything from them about the preferential creditor issue (I argued this with them, stating that RBS etc were previously preferred and I was just balancing it out). The last time I heard from them was in July / August and I've been stressing about it ever since.
They tended to email me on a friday afternoon, which I'm sure they did just to upset me and ruin my weekend!

When things run normally do they send you something before AD? and if so, at what point do they usually do this?

Thank you for all you advice, it is really appreciated.
