Posted - 26 February 2012 : 19:53:40 I'm currently on IVA but due to personal reasons I'll be leaving UK to live in another EU country. I'll be unemployed until I find a job there but it may take months. I'm thinking of going bankrupt but I'm not sure what are the implications...Will it affect my credit score there? Will I have to come to UK for meetings with IP? Any help much appreciated, Thanks

The first thing you need to do is speak to your IP and tell them of your intentions. They may be able to give you a payment break until you find work.
If you feel that you don't want to carry on with the IVA, then you will need to fail it with 3 months missed payments.
Please bear in mind that if you leave the country then you may not be able to declare bankruptcy here anymore, depending on the timeline, so I advise you speak to your IP or an expert on here to have everything explained to you.
