Posted - 29 February 2012 : 17:39:56 Hi I own a house with my ex she refused to sell it but hasn't lived or payed anything on the property for over 2 years, me & my new pArtner decided we didn't want to live in the house anymore for obvious reasons!! My ex finally agreed to sell an then on day of transfer refused to sign!! The mortgage company wud Not give me the nitrate in my name so I let the house be repossessed as ex refused volunteer repossession! There is a massive shortfall on the mortgage prob looking at £20k wud I be able to go bankrupt?

If you are insolvent, then bankruptcy may be an option for you and the shortfall can be covered in that, however, I suggest you speak to an expert on here for advice as there may be other options.
