i just wish to god, ihad seen this site before, we did all the forms for 19th sept we went and they asked us for fee, i thought because we were on benifits we didnt have to pay they did say they would look into how the ex160a was worded, its to late for us i was in such a state i really have let my husband down, i just feel so alone i dont have that sort of money, nobody at the court said when i rang for the appointment about any fee, it took 6 weeks to get there and for that to happen it was just degrading.

Hi jackiey and welcome to the forum

I'm afraid you do have to pay a fee to petition for your bankruptcy, and it is generally £495 each. There are some charitable trusts that can help with the fees and you can find out more from the CAB whether you have any of these available in your area.
