Posted - 24 September 2008 : 15:13:09 hi this is not really a question about br but i feel very angery about a meeting i had to attend at my son's school this morning, which was a multi-agency meeting because my son has been in to hospital twice in the previouis six month's due to stress related conditions(i am disabled and he is my main career aged 14)at this meeting one of the coucil people suggested that i did not provide a proper balanced diet because i do not buy organic fruit and vegand then went onto say that his school uniform not from the approved supplier, (she said it looked cheap)she was right it was not from the approved supplier i had bought it in asda during the summer holidays, at which stage i broke down and felt i had to explain why i had bought cheaper clothes and then i told 6/7 people at my son's school that i was going br 2moro which i was very embaressed about ass my son was also in the meeting but i suppose some good did come out of her nasty comments i had a phone call this afternoon from the vice principal appologising but alsosaying that if i went to the approved supplier this eve i could pick up uniform for him 2x trousers 3x shirts blazer and any school sportswear he needed and the school would pay i have never heard of this before

Posted - 24 September 2008 : 16:44:16 I feel so disgusted by the way you have been treated by the school - the fact that you got an apology shows they must have known how wrong they were. I purchase my childrens uniforms from asda/tesco - why does it matter so much
I hope this has not set you back in any way, and you must continue with your head held high.
Take care on your journey and im going to be a couple of weeks behind you with the br - mine is on 13 october.

Posted - 24 September 2008 : 15:27:24 Hi eamonn,
What a great outcome to an uncomfortable and upsetting meeting. I'm a teacher and know that my school has done similar for parents who are struggling. Get yourself to the uniform shop and stock up before they change their mind! ;-)
And well done you for being strong enough to stand up for yourself and explain and actually get something pretty substantial out of it in the end too!

Posted - 24 September 2008 : 15:26:34 Thats terrible about the way you have been treated! How dare they say that you don't provide a proper balanced diet!
Im glad the Vice Principal apologised to you. You are trying to sort your life out but people like that really get up my nose!
Keep smiling! x

It just goes to show how sympathetic and helpful people frequently are if you give them the whole picture.
