Posted - 26 September 2008 : 09:14:41 You just need to focus now on getting your life back on track. You have made a big decision going bankrupt and it probably wasn't an easy decision.
Believe me, I think we have all gone through feeling like cr*p, blaming ourselves, how things could have been different but they weren't. You have made the decision to change your life and your childrens lives for the better... focus on that. You should be proud of yourself!!!

Posted - 25 September 2008 : 22:17:38 That's definitely not the name of our examiner. Try not to get too upset about it all hon. It sounds like you caught him on an off day to me. As far as I was aware, they weren't supposed to be judgemental, especially not before they've even done their investigation! Remember the worst they can do is give you a BRU/BRO (other than in REALLY serious cases of course) and they really don't mean much anyway. Try your best to put it out of your mind for now.
Hugs hon,

Posted - 25 September 2008 : 21:50:05 Oldham County court at which they were great especially Andrea the bankruptcy clerk and the OR office at Manchester who I'm sure was just doing his job impartially (although it doesn't feel like it at the moment) still crying. |

Posted - 25 September 2008 : 21:20:33 had my interview today at 10am it lasted about an hour and it was the worse thing i've ever been through, i understand the man has a job to do but he made me out as a stupid, idiotic, brainless criminal who makes a career out of obtaining credit for fun and going on wild spending sprees, in truth i've been looking after two kids starting over again from scratch (left previous relationship carrying clothes i owned)ex husband only contributes £30 per month for two teenage children. Ive paid everything up to month of bankruptcy admittedly the last few months have involved robbing peter to pay paul and so one until large drop in income resulted in payplan advising BR as know DI to pay creditors after essential outgoings, i am so depressed - i was struggling with stress and anxiety up to this and this had now tipped the balance i can't stop crying, i feel i've let everyone down, my kids and my husband. The OR said he cannot recommend early discharge as my case will have to be examined in much finer detail to see if anything is wrong, as he thinks i have knowingly contributed to my debt problem (even hinting that i didn't care) and that my discharge can be extended and that he won't be able to look at it for at least 5-6 weeks, i can't deal with this - my head is so messed up - can anyone please give me something positive to look to....... |

Posted - 24 September 2008 : 20:36:51 Thanks John I'll be glad when it's over, i think this is worrying more than the court date. My boss wasn't too happy that i needed more time off (i went to the CAB and then court last week, i got a dry remark this morning about have i finished all my appointments yet as i haven't completed a full week back at school since term began. That got to me a bit especially as i've just returned to work after six months on the sick with anxiety and depression so i think i'm a bit touchy at the moment - will let you know how it went in the morning - thanks again i have read a few other previous posts from others they have helped a bit as well |

Posted - 24 September 2008 : 19:35:45 Hi you will be asked general questions based on the information you submitted in your Statement of Affairs. You are not likely to be told how much you need to pay towards an IPA but you will probably be told if they plan to propose one in the near future. Don't panic, the information has already been submitted when you went to court so try and relax and have your copy SoA with you to refer to if needs be.
