How does my husband go about getting this applied to his credit file - do we have to go through credit reference agency or is there another way round it?

Hi
just write to one of the agencies requesting a copy of his credit report. If you google Equifax or Experian you will find the address and information regarding the fee, it was around £2.

On receipt mark all of the entries, if any, that are not his debt but yours, then send a copy back to the agency with a covering letter requesting disassociation.

How can he go about it - is it just a case of writing a letter to them

Any suggestions on what to say?

Hi
yes it's ok to disassociate your debts from your spouses debts but the reference agencies are the only way to go because they're the only people that keep these records.

Hey moneyworries, I don't think you can dis-associate from your spouse. Maybe an expert can clarify that. X
