Posted - 27 September 2008 : 15:44:08 I have a bank account with hsbc, it is just a basic account with a debit card not cheque guarantee.If i declare bankruptcy can I still keep this bank account and use for direct debits wage payments etc.

That is entirely at HSBC's discretion. If you owe tham money when you go BR, they will certainly close the account. However, if not, have a chat with your bank manager prior to your BR to see what their position would be.
