Hi
Can anyone tell me, hubby now unemployed and will not get any JSA, I earn 14500 per year - do you know if we will have to pay the 150 each court fees? I think that hubby will not have to , but I do not know if I will?

i went br on thurs last week and i filled in the reduced fee applicaion form at the court (ithinkit form ex160a) jsa is listed as one of the qulifing benefits i think that although your hubby may not get any payment he may still qualify as such so he should apply if your total income is your wage you can apply for the reduced fee due to hardship (not sure what that means but that is what it said on poster on the wall) |

He is phoning JSA tomorrow as he finished work last week(redundant) He will not get JSA as he did not pay stamp for the 2 years they look at. We were in America for those years.
I think as you said he will qualify for reduced but do not know if I will as working but then he and my daughter are both dependant on me.

At the court I went to I could have got it there and then if I qualified but I was over the threshold. I'm guessing that if you are only getting your wages and your hubby is on JSA then there is a good chance that you will qualify.
Like Jo said though, ring your court and check first and if you do qualify you will need to take your last 3 wage slips and proof of benefits. You can fill in the form there (well I did at mine, it may vary at different courts)and if you qualify only pay the lower fee.

So in that case i think you can apply through the court for a reduction in the fee, but if you do it before allow 4 weeks just in case, thats what my court advised. Give yours a ring to check.

Morning,
Do you have any other money like tax credits.
From what i understand if your money is less than there specified amounts which is on there form available from the court then you may be able to apply for the £150 which is the court fee to be removed and only pay the £345.
I had a form from the court to apply for my discount but as of yet have not done it, i have 6 months from the date of BR to apply.
