Posted - 28 September 2008 : 20:48:01 Hi end of teather
I am going BR on 13 October and have already opened the coop cashminder account ready. I have infromed them of my planes and they are fine with it - this seems to be the best account to have in our position at the present time.
I have also added it to my list of accounts on the form, however am going to inform the OR once i have my meeting with them.
Hope this helps a little
The weights are coming off my shoulders very slowly, but making such a big diference !! |

Posted - 28 September 2008 : 20:46:36 i opened an account a couple of weeks with our local credit union which is a co-op account. i am going bk on thur. i have not used the account yet but will be paying in some money tom to cover dd's due out 1st oct day before i go bk. i spoke to credit manager at the local credit union who advised they do not usually close the account because it is a basic account unless the or advises them to do so.. if it is closed then i will have to open another basic acc elsewhere as some people on here have been allowed to keep accs open prior to bk others have opened them after br. so i will have to see how it goes. |

Thanks. |

Posted - 28 September 2008 : 18:55:01 Hi 'end of tether' ,
I always start by saying i am by no means an expert , but will gladly share my own experiences so far . We are going BR this friday , and rung up last tues for the appt . Since getting our date various creditors have continued to phone and i have now started telling them i am going BR on the date in question . All they say is ' ok , please let us know when you have done it ' . Had no abuse or negativeity from them at all . In my mind by telling them now it stops the phone calls and letters every day . As for the bank account , its up to you , i personally will wait til have gone BR but others on the forum have opened accounts prior to BR and not used them until after , and just informed the OR what they have done .
