Posted - 29 September 2008 : 10:43:25 Hi the obvious question is who would the OR try to get the money back from?
If the money had been passed from you to your F-I-L then there's an issue. As it was the reverse your F-I-L is out of the picture as it were. The only one that could be asked where the funds are or have gone is you and if they are spent, particularly on essentials over a period of time, the OR can do nothing. Nor can he say much if the gift was on the condition the money was used for the holiday and the household items that were needed.
How long ago was it and did it go into your bank account so that it could be seen on your statements.
