Posted - 30 September 2008 : 12:54:10 Another question for all you great people!!!
I took out a 12 month mobile contract a couple of months ago. This was before my wife had to stop work and we found ourselves in the situation we are in now (repo & BR!!).
My question is that we can't afford to keep paying the £30/month contract on my phone and the same on my wifes (she only has couple monthe left on contract) so could we just cancel the direct debit and just leave it until we go BR in a month or 2 and just add them as more creditors??
Many thanks again!! |

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 14:19:55 Just thinking (dangerous!!) as I have been using the phone and a payment is due in a week or so would it be deemed to be fraudulant if I stopped the DD before this payment was made or shall I let this one go through then cancel DD? |

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 13:47:43 Hi Turborat
That is exactly what we did. My one was for 18months and i had about a year left, i wrote in 12x 25 and then included on the SoA.
O2 who i had my contract with told me that as soon as they knew i was BR they would cancel my contract and then the only one i could have would be pay as you go, which i did just before we went BR so i had it all set up prior.
Good luck

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 13:16:30 Hi
yes you can do that but remember to put down the total amount owed as the same sum it would cost to complete the contract in full, not just the sum of the arrears at the time of BR.
