Posted - 30 September 2008 : 14:53:46 Hello,
I think i read on one of the Insolvency Leaflets that you can write to the court that you were made bankrupt at, and get a Certificate of Discharge for £60 (and £1 per copy)- you can do this no earlier than 2 weeks before your discharge date.
I am being discharged on 2nd Nov, so I wouldnt be abl eto write to them until mid-late October.
Thanks |

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 13:41:14 Hi you can simply print of a copy of the insolvency site page showing that your discharged, that saves money.
If somewhere you go specifically needs a copy of the certificate then im not 100% sure but i think you may be able to do it the day of discharge, but it may be worth waiting a day or 2 for it to go through the system.

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 13:38:15 so i am correct in thinking that if my discharge date is this week, I wont get a letter and thats it?
Can I pay £60 on the day of the discharge or do I have to wait after the automatic discharge date?
many thanks |

Posted - 30 September 2008 : 13:26:41 Hi basically not a lot. Neither the court or the OR would normally notify you in any way. Your name is automatically removed from the register although it can vary as to how long this takes. For some it's days and others a few weeks.
After a few weeks you can, if you wish, apply to the court for a certificate of discharge which costs £60.
