Hi Skippy,

We didn't either. I think people only tend to if their phone contract is likely to be cancelled by their provider and there will then be an amount outstanding on the contract.

It's become a problem for us now because we changed providers to make the tariff smaller and therefore now find ourselves with an amount outstanding.

I didn't even think of my mobile as a debt - I didn't owe them any money at the time of BR so I didn't include it.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Good luck and do let us know the outcome.

Hi Jo,
Thanks for that, i will mention it to the OR, because there's no way i could pay a bill to o2,
will let you know how i get on.

EOT.

Hi C

I was a little concerned about that but treated o2 like all my other creditors as they told me to include it and make sure that i put the amounts for the monthly cost times by the time left on the contract, which then gave me the balances owing.

O2 have since billed me and the bills sent to the OR to go with the BR.

I do hope that both you and EoT get this sorted out as it is a contract taken before BR but upen decalring BR then that becomes a debt and should be included as i understand it it was running before and your still BR so its a debt that should be in there like the rest.

Its not something you have just taken out.

Does that make sense. I dont know these phone companies.

Yeah it would, EOT. Ask your OR during your interview and see what he/she says.

Hope it works out for you! :-)

Thanks Jo.

What made me wonder was that the contract is for future months that are not yet due, if you see what I mean, so I was wondering if they would be seen as a 'debt' from prior to BR date. The fact that yours were included shows it's possible though, so that's great!

Thanks again :-)

Hi my contract for my mobiles has been included in my BR as i wrote them on my SoA.

It may be worth mentioning this to the OR about the bill you may get. I dont know how it will work now but anything is worth a try.

Do let us know how you get on. I already knew just before we went BR that my contracts would be cancelled and so included them both.

Best of luck both of you.

Hi EOT,

To be honest, I'm not too sure about that. We're having a similar issue and it hasn't been resolved yet.

Maybe someone else will be able to clarify that for us both! Anyone?

Take care,

Hi BankruptC,
Thanks for your reply, my contract is with o2, and if they cancel my contract, will they charge me the remaining time left on the contract, or could i get it in the BR,

Thanks EOT

Hi EOT,

Do you mean as an expense? Did you put 'telephone' on there (as in landline)? If so, what did you put down? The OR doesn't usually allow mobiles as an expense anyway, but people tend to put an amount down for 'telephone' that could maybe cover some of the mobile costs too. We put £60 for 'telephone', and it was reduced to £50, but this still covers the landline, internet and some of the mobile costs. The rest comes out of our DI.

Hope that helps a little :-).
