However i am planning to declare bankruptcy soon, prob new year now but i was wondering would the OR take my house away and ill be made homeless?
I havent told the new letting agent that im thinking about going BR yet because it will be a few months anyway. as long as pay the rent though will i get kicked out?

This is quite common but most landlords don't even know it's there and wouldn't know what to do with it if they did.
Top Tip tho - make sure you get the property sorted out BEFORE you delare BR.
After that you might find it a lot more difficult.
Also personally I wouldn't tell the letting agent anything, they don't need to know but it might send them into a bit of a flap.

Posted - 10 November 2008 : 11:22:36 Hi Paddy
I would say that you would be ok. The OR wont take your home from you, the landlord seeing as you have paid your rent and they know you probably wont even blink an eye.
As long as the rents are paid then they seem to be quite happy, i would say that BR are better tennents sometimes as they have no other debts and so the rents are always paid, but thats my opinion only.
Have a read through your agreement, but i do think that you will be fine and try not to worry.
Take care
