Posted - 14 November 2008 : 12:09:01 made the decision to go bankrupt trying to get the wife on board she is a bit reluctant to do so i was going to go for a iva but due to no overtime and being on a short working week which is going to last well into 2009 only have about 70pounds left so may take four or five months to save money up had a iva that failed got to try and convince the wife its the best thing to do we have 17000 pounds of debt between us we are renting our house we sold it to one of those sell and rent companys last year anyway keep all posted how i get on |

Posted - 18 November 2008 : 14:04:37 I paid back 135000 back to Halifax and other secured loan got 550 pounds which went on solicitors fee. i am paying 700 pounds now was paying 950 on mortgage sold to a local company and have been renting for 15 months now house was valued at 138000 at the time of sale informed my iva provider at the time of sale just trying to save money up for bankruptcy at moment.its a bit hard as now on 4 day week should i let my creditors know about my plans as have very little money to offer them the rent is about the norm for this area

how much was owing on the mortgages when you sold it, did you have any money released and are you paying the normal rent or is it a little higher than other houses in your area,

you may just want to research the "sale & lease back" option here because if it was sold for significantly under value the OT has the power to overturn the sale.
Probably worth you having 5 minutes on the phone with an expert.
