Posted - 11 December 2008 : 19:23:47 Hi all I owe approximately £38,000 on credit cards and loans and I am in the process of declaring myself bankrupt I lost my job about year ago and been unable to get further full time employment just temping through agencies. On the bankruptcy forms it asks to explain how you got in debt but I am really unsure on what to put for this as anything of value I have sold to repay my creditors. Just have my car valued less than £1000 and my computer and I am not a homeowner. Although there was quite a long period of time when I was borrowing money to repay what I owe. I also have lent some of this money to my parents would they likely chase them for the money back as I borrowed it to help them out :(

the bankruptcy forms ask many questions. One of which is "are you owed any money".
If yes the OR has a duty to try to recover this money.
