We had out BR on 22nd and have our OR interview on Thursday 28th. We have notified our mortgage company that we were looking to hand back the property but not given any dates.
Our mortgage is due the 1st of the month but is taken from our bank on the last working day of each month i.e. on Friday 29th. This wont go through as we have cancelled the Direct Debit - the problem we have is that are not due to move into the rented property until Saturday 30th. This will be the first payment we have missed. I'm concerned now as I dont know how the process works but what is the chance that our mortgage company turn up on Saturday morning to turf us out before we get our belongings out. I have no idea of the timescales as to when the payment would hit their account or they would be aware and how quickly they could remove us - change the locks etc.

Posted - 27 January 2009 : 20:19:32 Hi Bossc@ I really wouldnt worry, we missed our first payment on the 1 September 08 - will be moving on the 27th Feb, they have only just sent us solicitors letters, spoke to solicitors and they say it wouldnt actually be able to repossess for another 2-3 months at less dependant on how busy the courts are.
Hope this helps x

I can assure you that nobody would turn up for months. Don't worry.
