i went bankrupt 3 years ago and im looking to get my first morgage will i find this difficult and who are the best people to see about this? |

Hi All
I had a quick look back through my inbox and found a couple of the companies that i approached they were as follows -
New Start Financial Services
The Mortgage Broker ltd
Hope im not breaking any boared rules putting names on here, I have no idea what these companies are like, but all I can say is that they responded to my request for information and both said the same things regarding the discharge period and also the 25% deposit requirement.

Hi
I made a few enquiries regarding this matter, I researched mortgage brokers who deal with people who have, not so good credit files!! on google.
I found and Emailed 3 companies, all of whom told me that it is possible to get a mortgage but you must be discharged for about 1-2 years and have at least 25% deposit.
I guess as a mortgage is secured borrowing its a little easier to get than a personal loan.

Hi both Tony and Andrew have really good reputations.
However you should be aware that in the current credit crunch mortgage availability is really different to 3 years ago.
I suspect that you would need fully provable earnings ( no self certs ) PLUS around a 30% deposit.
Given the current housing price crash ( not sure where Halifax got their figures last month?) you may well be worth waiting a while longer.

You may find it hard to get a mortgage but there is an excellent mortgage broker who posts on the IVA forum. His name is Tony Parsons and he posts under the name of Welshboy and you will find his contact details in the experts section of the IVA forum - www.iva.co.uk
