Posted - 09 February 2009 : 22:56:29 Hi
Had a letter this morning from MBNA chasing me for money.
It states
We are aware that you are now insolvent and a default has been registered with the credit reference agencies. We therefore wish to close your account. Before we can do so the consumer credit act requires us to send you this notice.
They say I am breach of paragraph 8 of your credit terms and conditions as you are in arrears on your account. A Stop as been put on your card.
They basically want me to send them £399.53 or they will take further action. Which Obviously I won't be doing.
This creditor was put on my SOA in October and the outstanding balance was £2200 for a start off, so i don't where they got £399.53 from? What is all this about?
Sureley it is wrong for them to be doing this.
Anyone else recieved a letter like this so long after bankruptcy

yes it happens from time to time and almost always without logical explanation.
If you would like to be thorough, forward the letter to your examiner and a copy of your bankruptcy details to the lender.
