I suggest that you read this link from the Insolvency Service, it should help you.

If you appoint a Power of Attorney, then you don't have to go, they do it for you.

Thanks very much for your advice it is very helpfull.
Do you think they look carefully on where a person has been living for the last months o a year? as in my case, or they believe one's word, i mean, if i say i live in the uk or in the event of the worse case i have to go back and live there for a while, would it be possible for me to became br?,how do they check where you live? what kind of proof would they ask for? because it would be very difficult for me to do it under the spanish law.

This is a post from the Insolvency Service website:

Where would I present my petition?

If you do not live in England or Wales and are able to make yourself bankrupt here, you must present your bankruptcy petition in the High Court. The bankruptcy petition must be presented either by yourself in person, or an agent acting on your behalf, e.g. a solicitor. If you appoint an agent to act on your behalf, you may need to grant them power of attorney – please contact the High Court for further details. Following the making of a bankruptcy order, you will need to provide information to the official receiver and complete a booklet and other documents, as well as possibly attending for an interview. Unfortunately, these documents cannot be completed before a bankruptcy order is made, and you cannot pre-book an appointment.

However, if you explain your circumstances to the official receiver, e.g. you are only in the country for a limited period, he will try to fix an appointment for you as soon as possible. If you appoint an agent to act on your behalf under a power of attorney, that agent could be required to attend for interview at the official receiver’s office on your behalf.

Hope that helps.

What would happened if i decide to come back to the uk, lets say i go back and start looking for a job, and in that time im looking for a job i apply for Bankruptcy, lets say in the first week im back.
Then when all the process is done i leave the uk again, but that be a posibility? how long the process would take?, i would love to know how long would be neccesary for me to stay in the uk to me Made Br? how long from the first day i go to court to the day i have the interview with the trustee? and would i receive a notice before the interview? i mean if in that days between the to dates i go back to spain, would they give me enough time to come back to the uk? thanks you, your help is much appreciated.

Hi Alberto

In theory you could do this however you will need to sign the court documents under oath and would then be liable under the purjery act.
